A threatening weather forecast didn’t put a damper on yet another great Warrior Wrestling show.

With rain and thunderstorms possible on Saturday (Aug. 21), Warrior Wrestling brass moved their final Stadium Series indoors to Marian Catholic High School’s large gym in South suburban Chicago Heights.

The move inside better captured the crowd noise as stars such as Thunder Rosa, Jay White and Trey Miguel headlined an entertaining card from top to bottom.

In the opener of the main card, newly-minted AEW star and former NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa defeated Chicago’s Kylie Rae to win the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship. The best news from that scenario means the popular Rosa will return a future Warrior show at some point to defend the title. Kylie’s reign ended just short of a full year.

In arguably the most anticipated match of the night, NEVER Openweight Champion and New Japan Pro Wrestling Superstar “Switchblade” Jay White bested Warrior staple Sam Adonis. White took it to Adonis with his strong-style offense while Adonis never backed down hitting his ropewalk blockbuster and 450 splash during the match. In the end, it was White, who came through with the victory and usually heelish Adonis gained a whole new respect from the fans.

In the main event, Trey Miguel successfully defended the Warrior Wrestling Championship as he made the athletic and burly Jake Something tap out in a battle of IMPACT Wrestling stars. Miguel, a Toledo, Ohio, native, was serenaded to the ring by Pablo 5600 in a special entrance.

Warrior Wrestling Lucha Champion Aramis retained his title with a victory over Mr. Iguana in an entertaining affair. Aramis finished a clean sweep of Warrior’s three Stadium Series in the match after winning the War of Attrition match in June to become the first Lucha Champion and defeating Daga in a one-on-affair in July.

In an underrated match of the night and probably the biggest surprise of the night, K.C. Navarro won the six-man GMSI Invitation to win the Warrior Wrestling Contenders Medallion. Navarro outlasted former Warrior Wrestling Champion Brian Cage, AEW stars Dante Martin and Alan “5” Angels, Former IMPACT Wrestling X Division Champion TJP and Pale Pro standout Chandler Hopkins. The six man took turns with daredevil moves before Navarro secured the victory, giving him the right to a championship match at a time of his choosing.

Warhorse defeated Beastman, pinning him after hitting him with three flying elbow drops off the top rope after Beastman put up a great fight. In a lighter moment after the match, Warhorse and Beastman tried on each other’s entrance attire.

In other main card matches, Dark Order’s Evil Uno defeated Jason Hotch in a back-and-forth affair. Cole Radrick defeated Isaias Velazquez in a solid, technical match. AEW’s Marko Stunt pulled out a victory over the strange Jacksyn Crowley.

Before the show wrapped up, Warrior Wrestling promoter Steve Tortorello announced the promotion’s next show, “Sweet 16,” with special guest, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart, which is slated for Saturday night, October 16. A few days later, Warrior announced on its social media platforms that Buddy Matthews, fka WWE’s Buddy Murphy, will wrestle at “Sweet 16.”

Pre-show matches: The Chicago Sideshow (Nacho Clown, Cypher and Ryan Matthews) defeated Kody Lane, Tad Jarvis and Gaynon Green in a six-man tag team match. … Garrisaon Creed defeated Davey Bang in a match of two respected competitors in the area. … Pale Pro Champion Cameron Cole defeated Trevor Outlaw to retain the title. Hometown boy Outlaw actually played the babyface in the match.
